Iran announces shift in cooperation with UN nuclear watchdog
Iran has announced a change in its relationship with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) following the implementation of a new law that limits ties with the UN nuclear watchdog.
Speaking on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated, “Our cooperation with the agency has not stopped, but will take on a new form.” He added that requests to monitor nuclear sites will be evaluated individually, with considerations for safety and security.
The decision reflects Iran’s evolving approach to nuclear oversight amidst ongoing tensions regarding its nuclear program.
