Israel denounces exclusion from London defense fair as "discrimination"
Israel’s Ministry of Defense has condemned as “discrimination” the decision of the United Kingdom to exclude its government representatives from the Defense and Security Equipment International (DSEI) arms fair in London.
In a statement released Friday, Israeli officials described the move as a “deliberate and regrettable act of discrimination” and announced that the ministry would withdraw entirely from the event, including the cancellation of its planned national pavilion.
The British Ministry of Defense confirmed that “no Israeli government delegation will be invited to participate in DSEI UK 2025.” According to a spokesperson, the decision was made in response to Israel’s intensification of its military operations in Gaza, which London considers “a mistaken course of action.”
The exclusion comes amid heightened tensions over the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. While the DSEI fair is one of the world’s largest gatherings for the defense and arms industry, this rare diplomatic friction underscores growing disagreements between Western allies over the conflict and its humanitarian consequences.
