Houthi-run television in Yemen announced on Sunday that an Israeli strike targeted the capital, Sanaa. The report comes amid growing tensions between the Iran-backed rebels and Israel, following a series of missile attacks launched by the Houthis against Israeli territory.

The Houthi channel Al-Masirah posted on X (formerly Twitter) that “an Israeli aggression targeted the capital Sanaa,” without providing further details. The statement comes just one week after Israeli forces carried out strikes against a power plant in the rebel-controlled capital.

In recent months, the Houthis have intensified their involvement in the broader regional conflict, conducting drone and missile operations that have drawn international concern. Analysts warn that the escalation could widen the war in the Middle East, already strained by multiple flashpoints.

The Israeli military has not immediately commented on the claim. Meanwhile, the situation in Yemen remains dire, with years of war having devastated the country’s infrastructure and left millions in need of humanitarian aid.
