Italy signals commitment to shaping middle east future
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani emphasized Italy’s significant role in promoting peace and reconstruction in the Middle East during the G7 Foreign Ministers Summit in Canada. Highlighting Italy’s planned €60 million investment in reconstruction, Tajani noted that efforts could include training Palestinian police and supporting civil administration initiatives.
He stressed the importance of consolidating the Gaza ceasefire, ensuring humanitarian aid reaches the population, and positioning Italy as an active participant in the peace process. Tajani also expressed hope for a ceasefire in Sudan, announcing that Italy is organizing aid shipments, including supplies for children, to Port Sudan before Christmas.
Italy’s commitment underscores the country’s determination to play a constructive role in stabilizing the region and supporting international cooperation in crisis resolution.
