Italy: Two dead in military plane crash
Two people died on Wednesday morning in the crash of a military training aircraft in central Italy, about 100 kilometers southeast of Rome. According to the Italian Air Force, the plane, identified as a T-260B, went down during a training mission for reasons that remain unknown.
Emergency teams rushed to the crash site near the coastal town of Sabaudia, a well-known seaside resort. Despite their swift intervention, the two military personnel on board did not survive.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed his condolences in a message on social media, saying he was "deeply saddened by the death of two servicemen involved in this tragic accident." An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the crash.
