Authorities in the Moroccan town of Dar Ould Zidouh arrested three individuals on Sunday, including a minor, after a Japanese tourist was robbed under threat near the Oum Er-Rbia River.

According to preliminary information, the tourist had travelled to the area on the evening of November 29 to photograph the local scenery. While taking pictures, he was suddenly surrounded by three individuals who allegedly threatened him with a bladed weapon and seized his photography equipment.

The victim immediately reported the incident to the Royal Gendarmerie. A large-scale search operation was launched, leading to the rapid arrest of two suspects and later a third, believed to be the main perpetrator and already known to local authorities.

Two of the suspects were placed in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, while the third — a 17-year-old minor — was released pending further investigation.
The stolen equipment was returned to the tourist following instructions from the public prosecutor at the Souk Sebt Court of First Instance.
