JYSK expands into Morocco with first African stores
The Danish home furnishings chain JYSK has chosen Morocco, specifically Casablanca, as the location for its inaugural store on the African continent.
The company announced the simultaneous opening of two stores in the economic capital, as highlighted in a press release received by La Relève. The first store is located in the Viva Park shopping center, while the second is situated in Aeria Mall.
This initiative provides an opportunity for direct access to a wide range of customers from day one. Furthermore, consumers can purchase JYSK products through the online platform JYSK.ma, supported by a dedicated logistics center in Casablanca. This center ensures efficient and rapid delivery of orders throughout the kingdom.
According to Rami Jensen, CEO of JYSK, this expansion aligns with the company's vision to embark on its journey in the Moroccan market. He promises to offer high-quality products at competitive prices while seeking to understand the preferences of African consumers, a new market for the brand.
JYSK opened its first store in Denmark in 1979, and Morocco will mark the 50th country where JYSK establishes a presence as part of its global expansion. This move underscores the company's ambition to introduce Scandinavian design and quality to a diverse range of new markets.
The source indicates that the opening of the Casablanca stores is just the beginning, with plans to launch three to four additional stores by the end of 2025.
