Loir-et-Cher:suspected femicide after woman found dead at home
French prosecutors are investigating a possible femicide after a woman in her thirties was found dead at her home in Salbris, Loir-et-Cher. The discovery was made one day after her husband died in a motorcycle accident, raising the possibility of a domestic homicide followed by suicide, according to the Blois prosecutor’s office.
On Monday morning, the 46-year-old man, a volunteer firefighter, died in a violent head-on collision with a truck on the D2020 road. When emergency services later went to his residence, they found the woman’s body.
An autopsy revealed that she died from asphyxiation caused by strangulation. The couple’s two-year-old daughter was also present in the home. The investigation is ongoing.
