Louvre Heist: Four new suspects arrested in Paris
Four individuals were arrested on Wednesday evening by officers of the Brigade for the Repression of Banditry (BRB) in connection with the spectacular Louvre Museum robbery that occurred eleven days ago. The arrests took place around 8 p.m. in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, according to a police source.
“All four suspects are in custody, including one of the main figures involved in the heist,” the same source confirmed. The arrests raise hopes that investigators may soon recover part of the stolen crown jewels, which vanished during the daring break-in at France’s most famous museum.
The Louvre, a global symbol of art and culture, has remained under tight security since the incident, as detectives continue to trace the network behind the theft.
