Major Logistics Hub Launches in Casablanca with $29.7 Million Investment
Building Logistics Services (BLS) has inaugurated a significant new logistics center in Casablanca's Tit Mellil district, marking a substantial investment of MAD 300 million ($29.79 million) in Morocco's infrastructure development.
The newly established BLS Casa Hub spans an impressive 50,000 square meters and boasts a storage capacity of 55,000 pallet positions. This strategic investment is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, creating 145 direct jobs and approximately 300 indirect positions in the region.
During the inauguration, BLS CEO Moncef Belkhayat emphasized the project's alignment with national objectives, stating, "The project reflects our commitment to strengthening national capacities while supporting the strategic directions of the Ministry [of Transport and Logistics]." The initiative has received government support through incentives aimed at enhancing IT systems and human resources development.
Minister of Transport Abdessamad Kayouh highlighted that this investment aligns with Morocco's broader strategy to enhance logistics capabilities and boost national competitiveness. He also revealed that several additional projects are scheduled to commence in 2025, with planned developments in Casablanca, Kenitra, and Fez.
Looking ahead, BLS has outlined ambitious expansion plans across Morocco. The company intends to develop projects in Agadir and various southern provinces, encompassing over 600 hectares of land. Furthermore, BLS has committed to establishing similar facilities in other key regions, including Fez, Tangier, and southern locations such as Dakhla and Guerguerat.
The establishment of this major logistics hub represents a significant step forward in Morocco's infrastructure development strategy, promising to enhance the country's logistics capabilities while creating substantial employment opportunities in the region.
