Manuel Neuer extends Bayern Munich contract until 2026
Manuel Neuer has signed a one-year contract extension with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2025-2026 season. His previous contract was set to expire at the end of this season, but the new agreement will allow him to remain at Bayern for an additional year, taking him past his 40th birthday and into his 15th season with the club.
Neuer joined Bayern Munich in 2011 from Schalke and has since made 547 appearances in all competitions, ranking seventh among the club's all-time players. He also holds a record of 168 clean sheets in the Bundesliga. As the team’s captain since 2017, he has won two trebles (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League) in 2013 and 2020.
Overall, Neuer has claimed 11 Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokal trophies, six DFL Supercups, as well as two UEFA Super Cups and FIFA Club World Cups.
"I love playing football, and I want to continue as a Bayern player," Neuer said. "I'm still hungry and looking forward to another year with this special club. We’ve always had good discussions. It feels great, and we still have many goals to achieve together," he added.
This season, Neuer has made 16 appearances for Bayern in the Bundesliga, keeping eight clean sheets and helping the team gain a six-point lead over reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen, as they aim to bounce back from a trophyless 2023-24 campaign.
