Marhaba 2024: Baleària Unveils Comprehensive Plan for Seamless Strait Crossing

As the Operation Strait Crossing (OSC) approaches, the maritime company Baleària has unveiled an extensive plan to cater to the surge in demand during the "Marhaba 2024" operation. With a focus on providing seamless connectivity between North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula, Baleària has scheduled an impressive 27 daily rotations, offering a wide range of departure times to accommodate the anticipated influx of travelers to and from Tangier, Nador, Ceuta, and Melilla.

In total, Baleària will deploy 10 vessels (eight ferries and two high-speed ships), representing nearly a third of its fleet, to service the national and international routes linking North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula. This substantial allocation of resources underscores the company's commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient passage for travelers during this peak season.

The meticulously planned schedule includes 15 daily connections to Morocco, with 12 departures from Algeciras to Tanger Med, one from Motril to Tanger Med, and two from Almeria to Nador. Additionally, Baleària will operate 10 daily links between Algeciras and Ceuta, along with two connections linking Malaga, Almeria, Motril, and Ceuta.

Recognizing the diverse needs of Moroccan passengers, Baleària has tailored its onboard services to provide a more personalized experience. The vessels operating on these routes will feature Arabic and French-speaking crew members, as well as halal food options available at the onboard bars and restaurants. Furthermore, dedicated prayer rooms will be available on the ferries, catering to the religious needs of travelers.

With its comprehensive plan and commitment to meeting the heightened demand during Marhaba 2024, Baleària aims to ensure a seamless and comfortable journey for travelers crossing the Strait of Gibraltar. By offering a wide range of departure times, culturally sensitive services, and deploying a significant portion of its fleet, the company is poised to facilitate the smooth movement of people between the two continents during this peak travel season.
