Marseille bouncer killed in stabbing incident after refusing entry
A bouncer at a nightclub in Marseille’s Vieux-Port district was fatally stabbed by a customer after refusing him entry, authorities confirmed Sunday. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on the night between Saturday and Sunday.
The 48-year-old victim received a stab wound to the chest in front of an Irish pub. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he could not be revived and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The suspect, a 43-year-old man known to police, was confronted by bar patrons and subsequently arrested. He has been placed in police custody as the Territorial Crime Division (DCT) investigates the case. Authorities are looking into the circumstances that led to the deadly altercation.
