Military Cooperation Strengthened between Morocco and Rwanda

The Moroccan Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, welcomed his Rwandan counterpart, the Minister of Defense of Rwanda, Juvenal Marizamunda, in Rabat for an official working visit. The meeting was attended by a high-level delegation and the Rwandan Ambassador accredited in Morocco.

This visit aims to deepen and diversify bilateral military cooperation between Morocco and Rwanda. During the meeting, both parties signed a military cooperation agreement covering training, exercises, logistical support, technical assistance, military healthcare, and the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest. The agreement also establishes a joint military commission that will meet alternately in Rabat and Kigali to determine cooperation priorities.

The officials discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral collaboration and highlighted the constructive role both countries play in promoting stability, security, and peace across Africa. The meeting also highlighted various South-South cooperation initiatives and regional integration efforts led by the Moroccan King, positioning Morocco as a key player in fostering security and prosperity on the continent.

The two leaders expressed a shared commitment to enhancing their countries’ friendship and to implementing the signed defense cooperation agreement in the future.
