In a significant development for Morocco's healthcare sector, Bouygues Construction's Moroccan subsidiary, Bymaro, has been awarded the prestigious contract to build the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat. Valued at €450 million, this project underscores Bymaro's prominent role in healthcare construction within the country.

Scheduled for completion by September 2025, the Mohammed VI International University Hospital is set to transform healthcare delivery and medical education in Morocco. Covering an expansive 275,000 square meters, this architectural marvel will feature four six-story buildings and a central 25-story structure.

Central to this advanced facility is a commitment to state-of-the-art medical technology and exceptional patient care. With 553 beds and 20 operating theaters equipped with the latest innovations, the hospital aims to significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services.

Beyond being a healthcare facility, the Mohammed VI International University Hospital is a center of knowledge and innovation. It will include 15 lecture theaters, 72 teaching rooms, and 217 practical workrooms, all outfitted with cutting-edge audiovisual technology, to support the development of future medical professionals and researchers.

Designed by the acclaimed AIA Architecture firm, the hospital's layout seamlessly integrates three interconnected structures. The tower will house consultation rooms, administrative offices, and teaching spaces, while the hospital block will include critical care units, diagnostic facilities, and logistical support areas. The university wing will be dedicated to lecture theaters.

In an era of heightened environmental awareness, the Mohammed VI International University Hospital sets a new standard for sustainability. The project aims for Exceptional HQE certification and will install 8,800 square meters of photovoltaic panels. This will cover over 10% of the site's energy needs and reduce carbon emissions by 40% compared to industry benchmarks.

During peak construction periods, the project will engage 3,500 site workers and subcontractors, highlighting its significant economic impact.

Pierre-Eric Saint-Andre, Deputy CEO of Bouygues Construction, expressed pride in the company's role in this prestigious project. He emphasized their commitment to meeting ambitious timelines and environmental goals.
