Moroccan military chief discusses defense cooperation in Doha
General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of Morocco's Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, was received in Doha by Qatari officials during an official visit. He led a high-level military delegation to the State of Qatar.
During his meeting with Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, discussions focused on enhancing bilateral defense cooperation. An official statement indicated that both sides explored areas of mutual interest and considered ways to strengthen their collaboration in a balanced and constructive manner.
The Chief of Staff of Qatar’s Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, also participated in the meeting, accompanied by several senior military officials from both nations.
The talks reflected a shared commitment to deepening trust-based dialogue and building on accumulated experience. In light of current regional challenges, both Doha and Rabat emphasized the importance of operational coordination and sharing expertise in key defense sectors, reaffirming their long-standing strategic relationship.
