Morocco's Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy has unveiled a new campaign aimed at supporting Moroccans residing abroad (MREs). This initiative, part of the “Marhaba 2025” operation, focuses on improving public services, ensuring better communication, and facilitating access to housing and investment opportunities.

Caravan outreach across Morocco

Launched on August 2 in Tangier, the campaign features a mobile outreach caravan under the theme “Urban Planning and Housing at the Service of Moroccans Worldwide.” The caravan will visit 10 cities across the country until August 31, offering direct access to information and services.

The initiative aligns with the royal directives of King Mohammed VI, emphasizing his care and support for the Moroccan diaspora. The campaign follows circular number 7049 issued by Minister Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, urging urban agencies, regional directorates, and Al Omran Group to actively engage in bringing services closer to citizens and strengthening trust.

Citizen-focused strategic vision

This initiative reflects a broader strategic vision that prioritizes citizens, both within Morocco and abroad. The campaign aims to provide real-time assistance and information on ministry programs, particularly the Direct Housing Support Program, which has benefited 48,000 citizens since January 2024.

Ministry officials noted that this campaign offers diaspora members insights into housing opportunities and investment projects tailored to their needs.

Practical improvements for better access

The ministry has introduced several practical measures to enhance reception quality and streamline public services. These include:

- Creating reception and guidance spaces in central and decentralized institutions.

- Establishing special service windows at Al Omran’s commercial agencies.

- Setting up reception units at urban agencies and border crossings.

- Organizing open days to share information about housing programs and real estate investment opportunities. Digital transformation

To make services more accessible, the ministry is integrating digital platforms into its efforts. These platforms provide urban planning data, simplify procedures, and facilitate communication for MREs. Special support is also being offered for housing and investment-related files to ensure a seamless experience for the diaspora.

The campaign underscores Morocco’s commitment to strengthening ties with its diaspora and ensuring their active participation in national development.
