Morocco launches unified foreign exchange platform training program
Morocco’s Office des changes has initiated a nationwide training campaign to support the rollout of a new unified foreign exchange platform, marking a significant step in the country’s financial digitalization efforts.
The initiative, launched in mid-April, is designed to prepare currency exchange operators—particularly licensed exchange companies—for the adoption of the new system. Through a series of workshops and training sessions across the country, the program aims to ensure that professionals can effectively use the platform and fully understand its capabilities.
According to official information, the platform offers an integrated solution for managing foreign exchange transactions in a digital, real-time, and secure environment. It is expected to modernize the sector by improving transaction speed, enhancing traceability, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
The system also introduces advanced features, including centralized data collection for operators and real-time reporting of transactions to the authorities. A dedicated module has been incorporated to strengthen efforts against money laundering and terrorist financing, aligning with international compliance requirements.
In addition, the platform provides tools for data analysis and reporting, allowing for better monitoring of market activity and more informed decision-making. Authorities believe this will contribute to increased transparency and efficiency within the financial ecosystem.
The move is also part of a broader strategy to reduce reliance on cash transactions and promote safer, traceable payment methods. By digitizing operations, Morocco aims to reinforce the integrity and resilience of its financial system.
Officials emphasized that the training program reflects a commitment to supporting industry stakeholders during the transition toward a fully digital and structured operational framework.
