Morocco Makes a Splash with Inclusive International Water Polo Tournament
The city of Rabat is gearing up to host the sixth edition of the highly anticipated International Water Polo Tournament from May 29 to June 1. Organized by the Royal Moroccan Swimming Federation (FRMN) in collaboration with the Moroccan Railways Sports Union (USCM), this year's event is set to make waves by championing gender inclusivity and promoting women's participation in the sport.
With the tournament's theme "Promoting Water Polo through Coach Training," the organizers are committed to not only fostering the growth of water polo in Morocco but also creating an environment that encourages and supports female involvement at every level. The anticipation surrounding this edition is palpable, with more than a dozen renowned international teams from Hungary, Croatia, Italy, Spain, France, Canada, and Tunisia expected to grace the pools of Rabat. A press conference held on May 24 introduced these formidable squads and conducted the much-awaited match draw, igniting excitement among spectators and participants alike.
