Morocco ranks 19th globally in AI readiness for the outsourcing industry
Morocco has strengthened its position as one of the world's emerging digital hubs after ranking 19th globally in the Global Outsourcing AI Readiness Index 2026, highlighting the country's growing ability to integrate artificial intelligence into the outsourcing industry.
The ranking reflects Morocco's ongoing efforts to expand its digital economy and attract high-value technology services. According to the index, the country scored 43.35 out of 100, placing it among the leading destinations in Africa for AI-enabled outsourcing services. Morocco also ranked fifth in Africa and second in the Middle East and North Africa, behind Egypt.
The assessment measures countries across several key areas, including AI adoption within businesses, workforce readiness, the availability of AI technologies, and the quality of education and digital skills development. These factors are considered essential for supporting the next generation of outsourcing and business process services.
Across Africa, South Africa led the regional rankings, followed by Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, and Morocco. The results illustrate the increasing competition among African economies seeking to position themselves as regional technology and innovation centers.
The report noted that Morocco and Egypt were the only countries from the Middle East and North Africa to secure positions in the global ranking. However, it also emphasized that both countries still have room for improvement, particularly in accelerating AI adoption across businesses, strengthening digital infrastructure, and expanding specialized training programs.
Experts believe Morocco's competitive advantages include its strategic geographic proximity to Europe, a growing pool of multilingual young professionals, and continued investments in digital infrastructure. These strengths have helped the country outperform several traditional outsourcing markets in emerging economies.
