Morocco Secures Major Soccer Tournaments for 2025 Season
Morocco is positioning itself as a premier soccer destination in 2025, hosting four significant tournaments that span youth, women's, and men's competitions across the African continent and beyond.
The country's ambitious soccer calendar begins with the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (March 30-April 19), featuring 24 teams whose final lineup will be determined at the January 27 draw in Rabat. Following this, the Women's Africa Cup of Nations will showcase 12 teams from July 5-26, with Morocco's national team competing in Group A alongside Zambia, Senegal, and DR Congo.
In a historic expansion, the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup (October 17-November 8) will accommodate 24 teams for the first time. The sporting year culminates with Morocco's second-ever hosting of the Africa Cup of Nations, running from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. This premier tournament will utilize six major venues across the country, including facilities in Tangier, Agadir, Rabat, Marrakech, Fez, and Casablanca.
This concentrated schedule of international tournaments, supported by both CAF and FIFA, demonstrates Morocco's enhanced role in global soccer administration and infrastructure development. The country's return to hosting the Africa Cup of Nations after a 37-year gap particularly highlights its renewed commitment to continental soccer.
