Moroccan phosphate giant OCP SA has acquired PwC Business Services, a subsidiary of PwC Advisory Morocco, in a move that cements their long-standing collaboration. The transaction allows OCP to internalize administrative and financial support functions previously managed by the subsidiary.

PwC Business Services was initially established to provide exclusive, non-regulated services to OCP, including IT support, accounting, and operational assistance. These functions have been instrumental in optimizing OCP’s day-to-day activities. Since its inception, the subsidiary operated solely for OCP, effectively acting as the company’s dedicated internal support arm.

OCP, a global leader in phosphate and fertilizer production, controls over 70% of the world’s known phosphate rock reserves, primarily located in Morocco. The company has undergone significant transformation in recent years, investing heavily in technology, sustainability, and agricultural innovation. This acquisition aligns with OCP’s strategy to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain greater control over its internal processes.

For PwC Advisory Morocco, part of the global PwC network, the sale represents an opportunity to streamline its operations and focus on its core advisory services. With the subsidiary now fully integrated into OCP, PwC Advisory intends to broaden its client base across Morocco and the wider North African region.

This strategic shift underscores OCP’s commitment to strengthening its leadership in the global phosphate industry, while enabling PwC Advisory to expand its consulting footprint.
