The nationwide strike organized on October 2 attracted 195,000 demonstrators, according to figures from the French Interior Ministry. Among them, around 24,000 people marched in Paris. The General Confederation of Labour (CGT), however, reported a much higher number, claiming that nearly 600,000 people took part in the mobilization.

This represents a significant drop compared to the previous national day of action on September 18, when 505,000 demonstrators were recorded by authorities, including 55,000 in the capital. The sharp decline in participation highlights the difficulty unions face in maintaining momentum after the large-scale protests of recent weeks.

Despite the lower turnout, union leaders emphasized that social discontent remains strong, particularly over wages, pensions, and working conditions. They have vowed to continue their mobilizations in the coming months.
