At least 1,760 Palestinians have been killed since late May in the Gaza Strip, mostly by Israeli military fire, while seeking humanitarian assistance, according to the United Nations Office for Human Rights in the Palestinian territory.

Between May 27 and August 13, the UN office recorded “at least 1,760 Palestinians killed while seeking aid: 994 near the sites of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF, supported by the U.S. and Israel) and 766 along supply convoy routes,” the agency stated in a press release. “The majority of these deaths were carried out by the Israeli army,” the UN agency added.

These figures highlight the severe humanitarian situation in Gaza, where civilians face extreme dangers while trying to access basic aid amid ongoing military operations.
