Pedri extends contract with FC Barcelona until 2030
Spanish midfielder Pedri has officially extended his contract with FC Barcelona for an additional four years, as announced by the Catalan club in an official statement.
At just 22 years old, Pedri has already achieved remarkable milestones in his career, including winning the European Championship with the Spanish national team last summer. On Thursday, he signed his contract extension, which will keep him at the club until June 2030, alongside club president Joan Laporta, vice president Rafa Yuste, and sporting director Deco.
Pedri initially joined Barcelona in 2019 before being loaned to Las Palmas for further development. His talent became evident from an early age, and by 16, he was already considered one of the brightest young prospects in world football. However, his rise was interrupted by a series of injuries that temporarily slowed his progress. Now fully recovered and consistently performing at a high level, the midfielder has regained his best form under the guidance of coach Hansi Flick, who took charge last summer.
A vital orchestrator in Barcelona’s midfield, Pedri, wearing the iconic No. 8 jersey, has often been compared to club legend Andrés Iniesta. This season, he has solidified his status as one of the finest midfielders in world football.
His contract renewal had been highly anticipated by Barcelona supporters, who have embraced him as one of the club’s most beloved players.
