Poland has raised concerns over reported secret negotiations involving US and Russian representatives that could pressure Ukraine to cede territory. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski likened the discussions to the Nord Stream pipeline controversy, warning that their impact could be far greater.

According to media reports, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev explored proposals that would direct major US contracts in energy and rare earth minerals to Russia. In exchange, Ukraine might face pressure to surrender portions of its land.

Sikorski emphasized that Poland would not support any plan trading Ukrainian territory for economic gain, describing the situation as “a disturbing convergence of events” with serious implications for European security. He also noted that the talks may not reflect the official position of the US government.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk echoed these concerns, stating that the proposals were motivated by business interests rather than peace. The issue underscores ongoing tensions over Ukraine and the sensitive nature of international negotiations behind closed doors.
