Real Madrid's Dramatic Victory in Valencia Secures La Liga Lead
In a thrilling encounter, Real Madrid secured a last-minute victory against Valencia to claim the top spot in La Liga. The match, initially scheduled for November 2 but postponed due to devastating floods in the southeast of the country, delivered high drama and intense action.
Valencia took the lead in the 27th minute through Hugo Duro, putting the visitors under significant pressure. Real Madrid faced an additional setback when they were reduced to ten players after Vinícius Júnior's red card in the 79th minute. Despite the adversity, the team refused to give up.
Veteran midfielder Luka Modrić equalized in the 85th minute, just five minutes after coming off the bench. The decisive moment came in stoppage time, as Jude Bellingham netted the winning goal in the 90+5th minute, securing a remarkable comeback for Los Blancos.
This victory puts Real Madrid at the top of La Liga with 43 points, ahead of Atlético Madrid (41 points), who have a game in hand, and Barcelona (38 points). Atlético will have the chance to reclaim the lead on January 12 when they host Osasuna in the 19th round of the championship.
