Scandal in the Saudi Super Cup Final: Abderrazak Hamdallah Assaulted by a Fan

Abderrazak Hamdallah lost his composure after being provoked by a fan at the end of the Saudi Super Cup final on Thursday at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi (Al Hilal 4-1 Al Ittihad). The Moroccan international threw water at the fan in the stands. The fan responded by hitting him with a belt. Several people, including players, intervened to stop this assault, which was filmed and shared on social media.
On Friday, Goal Arabia and the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported that the suspect was arrested by law enforcement and brought before the authorities. Meanwhile, the newspaper Arriyadiyah revealed that Hamdallah and his assailant had decided to forgo any legal action.
