Sol Borelli of Spain and Lukas Skinner of Great Britain claimed victory at the Morocco Mall Junior Pro Casablanca on Sunday, May 10, 2026, taking the titles in the women's and men's divisions of this Junior Qualifying Series 1,000 event organized by the World Surf League. The competition took place at Ain Diab in Casablanca, Morocco, with finals day delivering powerful four-to-six-foot waves and offshore winds that pushed the young competitors to their highest level of the week. More than 150 athletes from Europe and Africa took part across the competition period, making the event one of the most significant junior surf gatherings on the continent. The event is co-sanctioned by the WSL's Europe and Africa regions.

Borelli secured her first-ever JQS title in a final that also featured compatriots Carla Morera De La Vall and Ibone Gomez, as well as France's Lily Hirigoyen. De La Vall opened the final strongly with a score of 7.17 out of 10, but Borelli responded by actively hunting waves and building her scorecard. A ride scored 7.57, the highest single wave of the final, combined with a 6.00 backup gave her a total of 13.57 out of 20 and confirmed the victory. The result carries added significance for Borelli, who had finished runner-up at the Junior Pro Taghazout Bay in 2025 and arrived in Casablanca looking to go one step further.

The men's final produced one of the standout moments of the entire event when Skinner found a set wave, opened with a powerful turn, and then launched a clean frontside grab-rail air with a smooth landing to earn a perfect score of 10.00. With a backup of 4.60, the 18-year-old from Cornwall finished with a total of 14.60, ahead of Ireland's Joshua Karbus in second place, followed by Germany's Hans Odriozola and France's Alai Rodriguez Albeniz. Skinner had already demonstrated his form earlier in the day, winning his quarterfinal heat and posting an excellent 8.33 in the semifinals. The result places him at the top of the European Junior rankings at the start of the season, with Karbus in second, a remarkable early-season positioning for two athletes from nations not traditionally associated with elite surfing.

In the African regional standings, South Africa's Levi Epenetos and Morocco's Maria Elouedrhiri took the lead following their quarterfinal appearances in Casablanca. The next stop on the European leg of the Junior Tour is the GADIS Junior Pro Ferrol, scheduled from June 24 to 28, while the African circuit continues with the Rip Curl Vic Bay Surf Pro Junior from June 19 to 21. The 2026 Morocco Mall Junior Pro Casablanca was supported by the City of Casablanca, the Moroccan National Tourism Office, and a range of national sponsors.
