A strategic partnership agreement aimed at promoting and ensuring the sustainable development of Moroccan football was signed on Monday in Salé between the National Professional Football League (LNFP) of Morocco and its Spanish counterpart, LaLiga.
The agreement was signed at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in the presence of key football and diplomatic figures, symbolizing a broader strategic rapprochement between Morocco and Spain, particularly in the context of their joint bid to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Portugal.
According to the LNFP president, the agreement will strengthen football relations between the two countries and provide Moroccan clubs with the opportunity to draw inspiration from the Spanish model, particularly in terms of organization and structure.
The partnership covers various development areas and represents a significant milestone in deepening collaboration within the football ecosystem across both sides of the Mediterranean. It aims to foster sustainable growth, technical improvement, and institutional cooperation.
The LNFP president emphasized the importance of conducting a comprehensive assessment of the Moroccan football system, expressing strong confidence in the success and expected impact of this initiative.
For his part, the president of LaLiga expressed honor in formalizing this partnership, describing it as the beginning of a promising and impactful collaboration. He highlighted the importance of sharing experiences and best practices to support the professionalization of Moroccan football.
