Strengthening Catalunya’s role in Europe: Key meetings ahead
Next week, Catalan President Salvador Illa will meet with senior European officials to discuss enhancing Catalunya’s contribution to Europe. Illa will host European Council President António Costa on Tuesday at noon. This marks their second meeting, following a previous encounter in Brussels on February 20. However, this will be the first time a European Council President has visited the Palau de la Generalitat.
On Monday at 13:30, Illa will meet European Commission Vice President for the Green Transition, Teresa Ribera, at the Palau. Jaume Duch, Catalonia’s Minister for Foreign Action and European Union, will also participate in the meeting.
On Wednesday, the President will hold talks with Roxana Minzatu, European Commission Vice President for Social Rights and Quality Jobs, at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, starting at 14:30.
The week will conclude on Friday with an institutional event marking Europe Day at the Palau, where President Illa, former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta, and Minister Duch will deliver speeches.
