Successful Test of Abdali Ballistic Missile by Pakistan's Military
Pakistan's military successfully tested the Abdali surface-to-surface missile on Saturday, demonstrating a range of 450 kilometers. The test was part of a broader operational readiness exercise aimed at validating the missile's capabilities.
This test comes amid rising tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi following a deadly attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 25 Indians and one Nepali national.
According to a military statement, the test launch of the Abdali missile, with a 450-kilometer range, was conducted to assess the operational preparedness of soldiers and to validate key technical parameters. These included the missile's advanced navigation system and its enhanced maneuverability features.
The statement also mentioned that General Syed Asim Mounir, the Chief of Army Staff, chaired a high-level meeting on Friday regarding the ongoing standoff between Pakistan and India. During the meeting, General Mounir emphasized the critical importance of heightened vigilance and proactive readiness across all fronts.
