Swarovski jewelry store robbed in Central Paris: €200,000 in losses
A Swarovski jewelry store in the heart of Paris’s 6th arrondissement was robbed overnight, with losses estimated at around €200,000, according to police sources.
The theft was discovered around 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 31, when an employee opened the shop located on Rue de Rennes and found the interior display cases shattered. All luxury jewelry and watches on display had been stolen.
According to preliminary findings, the burglary occurred during the night, shortly after the store closed at 7:45 p.m.Investigators believe the perpetrators forced the front lock, searched the cash register, and emptied the showcases.
A police source revealed that the boutique had no working alarm system or security cameras—the cameras visible on-site were fake surveillance devices.
The thieves appear to have carefully planned the operation, knowing exactly where to strike. The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the estimated damages at approximately €200,000, and the 3rd Judicial Police Division (DPJ) has taken charge of the investigation to determine the precise circumstances of the burglary.
However, progress may be hindered by the lack of usable video evidence.
