Türkiye's economy expands 3.7% year-on-year in third quarter
Türkiye’s economy grew by 3.7% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, according to official figures released Monday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). The country’s gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices surged 41.6% to 17.42 trillion Turkish liras ($409.6 billion) during July–September.
Quarterly growth showed a more modest increase of 1.1%, down from 1.6% in the previous quarter. Earlier in 2025, the economy had expanded by 2.5% in Q1 and 4.9% in Q2. Economists surveyed by Anadolu Agency had forecast a 3.97% year-on-year growth for the third quarter, slightly above the final figure.
For the full year, experts predict Türkiye’s economy will grow 3.49%, reflecting steady, if moderated, expansion. The growth is driven by continued domestic consumption, investment, and recovery in key sectors despite global economic uncertainties.
The latest figures highlight Türkiye’s resilience amid complex international financial conditions, signaling ongoing stabilization and gradual strengthening of the country’s economic fundamentals.
