Moroccan police in Tangier apprehended a 26-year-old Danish citizen of Palestinian origin on Tuesday evening. The man was wanted internationally by Danish authorities for an intentional murder committed with a firearm.

The arrest followed a routine police check in Tangier, where officers discovered that the suspect was the subject of an Interpol Red Notice. The international arrest warrant, issued by the Danish judiciary and disseminated by Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Copenhagen, linked the individual to a firearm-related murder that occurred in July 2025 in Tingberg, Denmark.

The suspect is currently in police custody in Morocco, awaiting referral to the public prosecutor’s office. Moroccan authorities have already informed their Danish counterparts of the arrest, with extradition proceedings under review in accordance with international legal frameworks.

This operation underscores Morocco's active role in international police cooperation, particularly its partnership with Interpol. The country has consistently demonstrated its commitment to combating transnational crime, including terrorism, human trafficking, drug smuggling, and violent crime, through effective coordination with global law enforcement agencies.

In recent years, Moroccan security services have gained international recognition for their efficiency and proactive measures in addressing crimes that transcend borders.
