Trump and Musk reconcile during tribute to Charlie Kirk
The rift between Donald Trump and Elon Musk seems to have eased. On Sunday, during a tribute in Arizona to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the U.S. president and the Tesla CEO exchanged a firm handshake and appeared to engage in a friendly conversation.
Just three months ago, their relationship had fractured after a very public clash. Yet at the packed stadium where thousands gathered to honor Kirk—recently assassinated—the two figures put their differences aside. A video of their handshake, released by the White House on X, quickly circulated online.
Musk, who was a major financial supporter of Trump’s 2024 campaign, had been entrusted with overseeing drastic budget cuts through a commission called “Doge.” Their falling out, however, cast doubts on their political and personal alliance. Sunday’s public display suggests a potential thaw, though whether this marks a full reconciliation remains uncertain.
