U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he intends to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the “coming days” to review the situation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict since their last meeting at the White House last month.

“I will speak with him very soon, and I will more or less know what we are going to do,” Trump said when asked by journalists about the previously announced meeting between Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, aimed at a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.

Trump made the remarks while welcoming Polish President Karol Nawrocki at the White House, suggesting that preparations for the meeting with Zelensky are underway.

In addition, the U.S. President indicated that the Polish leader’s visit would address security cooperation between the two countries, expressing willingness to increase the number of American troops stationed in Poland. “We will put more if they want,” Trump said from the Oval Office, emphasizing that there has never been any discussion about withdrawing troops from Poland.

Polish President Nawrocki highlighted that nearly 10,000 U.S. soldiers are stationed in Poland, describing their presence as a “strong signal” of the robust partnership between the two nations. He added that Warsaw plans to dedicate 5% of its GDP to defense spending.
