Trump says he hopes Israel and Iran can strike deal
Washington, President Donald Trump conveyed his optimism that Israel and Iran might reach an agreement, while acknowledging that conflicts between nations sometimes need to be resolved through confrontation. Speaking to the press before departing for the G7 summit in Canada, Trump reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to Israel’s defense but did not confirm whether he had requested Israel to pause its military actions against Iran.
Trump stated, "I hope there’s going to be a deal. I believe it’s time for a deal, but sometimes countries must battle it out. We will see what happens." The day saw renewed attacks from both Israel and Iran, resulting in civilian casualties and injuries. This escalation heightened fears of a wider regional conflict. Both Israeli and Iranian forces urged civilians on the opposing side to take safety measures in anticipation of further strikes.
