Turkish foreign minister to attend OSCE ministerial meeting in Vienna
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to participate in the 32nd Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), scheduled for December 4–5 in Vienna. The gathering will be hosted by Finland, the OSCE chair for 2025.
During the meeting, Fidan is expected to deliver a speech in the opening plenary session, calling for the preservation of OSCE core values and emphasizing Turkey’s commitment to maintaining the organization’s effectiveness amid rising regional tensions.
The minister is also likely to address several key international issues, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict, where he is expected to support ongoing peace efforts and encourage continued diplomatic dialogue.
On the Middle East, Fidan will reportedly criticize Israel’s actions in Gaza and reaffirm Turkey’s support for a two-state solution to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Additionally, he is expected to comment on the recent dissolution of the Minsk Process and its affiliated institutions, a step coordinated by Azerbaijan and Armenia to facilitate peace in the region.
On the sidelines of the OSCE meeting, Fidan will hold bilateral talks with several counterparts. Next month, Switzerland will take over the OSCE chairmanship from Finland.
