An explosion tore through a bar in Madrid on Saturday, injuring 21 people, three of them seriously, according to Spanish emergency services.
The blast occurred in the Vallecas neighborhood of the capital, leaving behind heavy damage. Images shared by Madrid’s emergency services on social media showed part of the ceiling collapsed, bricks scattered across the floor, and the bar’s doors blown off their hinges. Shattered glass was strewn onto the street outside.
Firefighters continued to clear debris in the afternoon, while civil protection teams and medical personnel treated the wounded. According to officials, three people remain in serious condition and two others are considered to be in potentially serious condition.
