Morocco's digital ticketing platform Webook.com has broken an African record by selling 12,000 tickets in the first 20 minutes and 35,000 tickets in under two hours for the return leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2025/26 final between AS FAR Rabat and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, scheduled for 24 May at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

An unprecedented continental performance

No fully digital ticketing platform in Africa had ever reached this pace or volume of sales before. From the moment sales opened, 12,000 tickets were purchased within 20 minutes, with no technical failures, no slowdowns, and no physical queues. The surge continued steadily, bringing the total to 35,000 tickets sold in less than two hours, a historic figure for any sporting event in Morocco and across the continent.

The figures underscore a fundamental shift in how Moroccan football supporters engage with major events. The seamless transaction volume reflects both the maturity of the platform's infrastructure and a rapid, broad adoption of digital purchasing habits among fans.

Amine Alaoui, General Manager of Webook Morocco and Regional Director Africa, described the achievement as a continental first: "With 12,000 tickets sold in 20 minutes and 35,000 in two hours, we prove that our technological infrastructure holds under peak demand. We are proud to contribute to the modernisation of the Moroccan supporter experience for a continental event of this scale."

A platform reshaping Morocco's sports ecosystem

Since its launch, Webook.com has established itself as the go-to digital partner for federations, clubs, and event organisers in Morocco. Its fully digital, secure, and paperless purchasing process eliminates physical queues, combats unauthorised resale, and guarantees equitable access for supporters. Each buyer is subject to strict purchase quotas, and electronic tickets allow rapid, contactless stadium entry.

The platform has logged several million connections across major events and has consistently delivered strong performance benchmarks. The Champions League final sale cements Webook.com's position as the leading digital ticketing operator in Morocco and a key enabler of the country's broader sports digitalisation drive, including for the continent's most prestigious interclub competitions. As Morocco continues to expand its international football footprint, with its co-hosting role at the 2030 FIFA World Cup approaching, platforms capable of managing high-volume, high-stakes ticketing are increasingly central to the country's sporting infrastructure ambitions.
