WhatsApp introduces @all feature and expands group chat tools

WhatsApp has introduced a new set of features designed to improve group conversations, including the long-awaited @all mention, enhanced poll options, and faster tools for creating new groups. The updates are aimed at making communication more efficient while giving users greater control over how they interact in large group chats.

The new @all feature allows authorized users to notify every member of a group with a single mention, making it easier to share urgent announcements or important information. Similar functionality has already been available on collaboration platforms such as Discord, Slack, and Microsoft Teams. To reduce unnecessary notifications, the feature is limited to administrators of larger groups and includes notification management options for members.

WhatsApp has also expanded its polling capabilities. Users creating polls can now set an expiration time for voting, enable anonymous responses, and edit poll questions or answer choices shortly after publication. These improvements are intended to make polls more flexible and useful for both personal and professional discussions.

Another addition simplifies the creation of new groups. Users can now generate a new group from an existing conversation without manually selecting participants one by one. The feature is designed to help people organize separate discussions among current members more quickly and efficiently.
