Woman robbed at gunpoint in central Paris, losses estimated at €100,000
A woman was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint inside her apartment in central Paris on Saturday afternoon, with the estimated losses reaching around 100,000 euros, according to police sources.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. in the 8th arrondissement, near Boulevard Haussmann. The victim reportedly opened her door to two individuals who then concealed their faces and forced their way into the apartment.
Police said the woman was threatened with a firearm and physically assaulted in an attempt to make her open a safe. The suspects fled the scene with luxury watches, handbags and jewelry of high value.
The victim, who suffered minor injuries and was left in a state of shock, received medical assistance at the scene. An investigation has been launched and handed over to the Paris criminal police, focusing on charges of armed extortion and aggravated violence.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the perpetrators.
