Swiss hotel expert takes charge at Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé
A new chapter unfolds for Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé with the arrival of Swiss hospitality veteran Yves Mudry as general manager. Inaugurated in 2022 on the banks of the Bouregreg River, this luxury establishment welcomes the seasoned professional who brings over two decades of international expertise to Morocco’s emblematic hotel.
With an educational foundation from the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne and an MBA from Glion Institute of Higher Education, Mudry has cultivated an impressive career trajectory within Accor Group’s top-tier brands. His professional path began in Indonesia, where he served as food and beverage manager at Le Meridien Nirwana Golf and Spa Resort in Bali from 1997 to 2000, before advancing to similar roles in Bangkok from 2000 to 2002.
Mudry’s career accelerated when he became resident manager at Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam in Thailand from 2002 to 2004. His talent for launching new properties became evident as he went on to open Le Meridien Angkor in Cambodia (2004-2007) and Le Meridien Chiang Mai in Thailand (2007-2012), while also working on pre-opening project development for Le Meridien Saigon in Vietnam (2012-2013).
After a brief stint as general manager at Hotel Nendaz 4 Vallees and Spa in Switzerland, where he opened a 4-star superior hotel complex with a 2,200 sqm spa, Mudry returned to Asia. There, he showcased his talent at SO/Bangkok, an iconic hotel known for its avant-garde design, balancing innovation with operational excellence from 2014 to 2017. His most recent position before joining Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé was at Raffles Jakarta, where he spent eight years elevating the property to a luxury benchmark in Southeast Asia. Under his leadership, the team achieved the 2018 Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice Awards, ranking #4 in Asia and #47 globally.
Upon accepting this new role, Mudry expressed his honor in joining Fairmont La Marina Rabat-Salé, describing it as “a place of exception where contemporary elegance and the art of luxury converse with the Moroccan soul.” He emphasized the hotel’s unique encounter between Moroccan heritage and international refinement, stating, “With our teams, we have the ambition to magnify this balance by creating unforgettable experiences every day for travelers from around the world.”
Driven by a long-term vision, Mudry advocates for hospitality grounded in finesse, sincere attention, and territorial anchoring. His management style, both demanding and human-centered, rests on a simple conviction: excellence is built daily with teams, for travelers.
