Tibu Africa and Xylem launch innovative sports program in Casablanca
A partnership between Tibu Africa, the leading NGO promoting education through sports in Africa, and Xylem, a global expert in water resource management, has launched a unique sports-based initiative aimed at fostering water conservation awareness and physical well-being among students in Casablanca. The program, unveiled on Thursday, will be implemented in 10 public primary schools across the city.
According to a joint statement, each participating school will serve as a “transformation lab,” integrating the innovative "Splash" educational tool designed by Xylem. This tool helps students adopt sustainable water usage practices while engaging in sports sessions that promote discipline, resilience, and personal growth.
Through interactive and dynamic workshops, students will learn how to protect water resources while discovering their physical potential. Supported by expert coaches and passionate facilitators, the program immerses children in an educational journey where every drop of water and every movement contribute to a lasting impact.
Nadia Chraibi, Xylem Watermark’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Leader for Africa, emphasized the program's dual focus on sports and sustainability:
"At Xylem, we believe access to sports transcends physical activity—it is a powerful tool for education and awareness. Through our collaboration with Tibu Africa’s 'Génération Sportive' initiative, we aim to not only equip public schools with sports facilities but also inspire younger generations to address sustainability challenges and recognize the critical importance of water conservation. This is particularly urgent given the water stress affecting our country and continent."
Echoing this sentiment, Mohamed Amine Zariat, president and founder of Tibu Africa, highlighted the transformative potential of the collaboration:
"We are proud to join forces with Xylem for such a vital cause. Education and sports are powerful catalysts for change. Through this program, we instill in young people values of commitment and responsibility, while fostering a sustainable vision for their future and their environment. Every child we educate today becomes a change-maker for tomorrow, embodying the hope of a more conscious and united world."
The initiative is aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). By promoting environmental education and physical activity, Xylem and Tibu Africa aim to build a more equitable and sustainable society.
This program reaffirms the commitment of both organizations to empowering the next generation. It embodies their shared belief that every educational initiative launched today is a promise for a brighter and more sustainable future.
