Gaza Ceasefire Deal Nears Finalization: Qatar Announces Progress
A potential ceasefire in the prolonged conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is reportedly closer than ever, according to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Spokesperson Majed al-Ansari, addressing a press conference in Doha, highlighted that negotiations to resolve the 15-month confrontation are nearing completion.
Qatar, in collaboration with international partners including the United States and Egypt, has actively mediated to bridge the gap between the two sides. “A draft agreement has been presented to both Hamas and Israel, addressing critical disagreements on key issues,” al-Ansari stated.
The ongoing discussions in Doha aim to finalize the remaining elements of the proposed deal. “We are currently at the closest point ever to reaching an agreement,” the spokesperson emphasized, underlining the progress achieved.
Al-Ansari expressed optimism about the implementation timeline, predicting that the ceasefire would take effect promptly once the agreement is finalized.
