The economic relationship between Canada and the United States is substantial, with bilateral trade exceeding $968 billion in 2023. Goods and services valued at approximately $3.6 billion cross the border daily, underscoring the profound interdependence of the two economies.
The imposition of these tariffs could introduce widespread disruptions to industries and supply chains, creating uncertainty for businesses and workers alike. Canadian officials are urging collaborative solutions to mitigate these challenges and maintain the strength of the cross-border economic partnership.
