Barcelona secures Hansi Flick until 2027 after domestic triumphs
Barcelona announced on Wednesday that they have extended head coach Hansi Flick’s contract through 2027, rewarding the German tactician for guiding the team to three major domestic trophies this season. Flick, who previously won a treble with Bayern Munich, joined Barcelona last year on a two-year agreement determined to bounce back following his dismissal as Germany’s national coach in September 2023. Under his leadership, the club claimed the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, defeating archrivals Real Madrid in both finals. This season, Barcelona dominated Real Madrid in four Clasicos, winning every encounter and scoring 16 goals overall. The club praised Flick for instilling belief, orchestrating memorable comebacks, and bringing excitement back to the team. His record stands at 43 wins in 54 matches, a 73% success rate, marking the best debut season since Luis Enrique’s 83%.
