The Moroccan national football team has concluded its final training session at the Mohammed VI Football Complex on Wednesday evening, ahead of their departure for Tangier on Thursday morning. The northern city will host two friendly matches against Mozambique and Uganda, as part of Morocco’s final preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The closing session was marked by high intensity and full player commitment. Head coach Walid Regragui, alongside his technical staff, focused on tactical cohesion, rhythm variation, and quick transitions. His main objective: to refine team chemistry and correct minor details before testing different strategies in the upcoming fixtures.

Regragui intends to use these friendlies to experiment with tactical systems, assess new players, and strengthen existing roles within the squad. These games are expected to serve as valuable tests to measure the team’s readiness ahead of the continental tournament.

Morocco will play its first match on Friday at 8 p.m. against Mozambique at the Grand Stade de Tanger, a venue that has become a familiar stage for major African football encounters. Four days later, on Tuesday, the Atlas Lions will return to the same stadium to face Uganda in their final rehearsal before the announcement of the official AFCON squad list.

These two matches will allow Regragui to evaluate the depth of his roster, observe individual performances, and balance playing time among the team members — essential steps in the countdown to Africa’s biggest football competition.
