Bpifrance’s defense fund raises €3 million on its first day
Bpifrance’s newly launched “Defense Fund” drew strong interest from investors on its opening day, raising nearly €3 million in subscriptions.
“The first day was remarkable!” said Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance, on BFM Business. He added that the average investment ticket was around €1,000, though some investors contributed significantly more.
The Defense Fund, accessible from a minimum investment of €500, aims to support French companies in the defense sector. Launched seven months after being introduced by the previous Bayrou government, it could eventually mobilize up to €450 million in total investments, according to the public investment bank.
Funds will be locked for at least five years, with an expected annual return of around 5%. While the investment carries a risk of capital loss, Dufourcq expressed confidence: “All indicators suggest the performance will be good, even very good.”
